I would like to point out that my group is the only one from Iowa on the list, even though Dr. Paul has yet to come to our area or talk to any radio stations in our area.

This competition has definitely brought some folks out of the woodwork, and every extra dollar donated to the campaign is a victory for all involved.

They should have a second win for the most money per member. Just to keep them in the race. I sent that recommendation to the dude organizing the MeetUp challange.

With that data point I could calculate how much the top 25 have raised as a whole, which would be fun to know.

Well, I created a spreadsheet to play with the totals.

Because of Livingston County, with 2 members (max donation of $2,300 each), I suspect the donation for the lowest group is $3,803. However, they could have given $4,600 each resulting in a lowest group total of $8,403.

Therefore, it appears the total donations from the top 25 Meetup groups is approximately $150-300,000.

But then again many of these assumptions could be flawed. Those numbers seem low based on the Q2 report with average days of around $30,000 in donations. Then again I wonder what % of total donations are done with a Meetup code. Based on the growth rates of Q2 with the Meetup growth rates and other metrics I have looked at I would not be surprised if Q3 comes in with $5-8 million raised. I would bet money that the campaign raises in excess of $5 million in Q3.

Anyway, enough number crunching. I am headed off to dinner with our Meetup Group and 60 people have RSVPed. Have fun!

Oh by the way, I ran into a fellow and his wife on Sat. night and they asked us about Ron Paul because we were wearing buttons. They were strongly interested and will be at the dinner tonight. We were both shopping for new Rolex watches.

My Meetup Group, with 150+ members, is not on the top 25 list so I am not sure how these numbers are calculated .... We got some serious cash being raised in this neck of the woods so New York must really be kicking butt and taking names. Good job!
