If they could vote to keep or replace the entire Congress, 59% of voters would like to throw them all out and start over again. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that just 17% would vote to keep the current legislators in office.

Only half (49%) believe that the current Congress is better than individuals selected at random from the phone book.

throw the bums out weather is upon us all?

this second dipping of the market could be toxic for all the incumbants...

Be careful what you ask for. I can think of some people who want the same thing, and would also like to replace those people with some of their friends.

The problem is that the % that would replace their OWN rep and senator is much much lower.

All I can say is:

“The two parties should be
almost identical, so that
the American people can
‘throw the rascals out’
at any election without
leading to any profound or
extensive shifts in policy.”

we should vote that into a bill.

The democratic removal policy - allowing Americans to be able to vote out the entire congress IF they get 50% +1 votes.

After all that is the democratic way.

I believe that this has always been the case. Congress gets horrible approval ratings, and people would vote to replace most of them. The problem is that no one votes out their own incumbents.

I'm voting everyone out. I don't care if you did or didn't vote for the bailout, you allowed multiple violations of the constitution to go unchecked by allowing the bailout to exist at all.

I'm in for a clean wipe!

obv. not Dr. Paul.

there exists not a facepalm big enough for the fact that i had to clarify that.
