Thread: Stop contributing to your 401K!

    Stop contributing to your 401K!

I got this idea from a different thread.

I decided I could contribute what I currently give to my 401k to the Ron Paul campaign for the duration. . . I think that could be a lot more benificial then by employers half match -- especially if he could win, I wouldn't need to worry about the tax benifits anyway.

How much do you contribute to your 401K every month. I make about $800 every 2 weeks. Contributing 6% That's about $64/2weeks or over $130/month or so that I could contribute to the Paul campain over and beyond what I'm already doing.

And if Paul doesn't win the nomination, I can always start it up again.

Do you think we could find 10,000 Ron Paul supporters that would be willing to do this? 10,000 * $130/month is $1.3 million/month. Is their 100,000?

I'm not real good at launching these pledge campaigns or writing a good ad copy to try and convince others to do the same. Some maybe some of the other people here might have other ideas on how to advertise the benifits of doing this.

But it's something I'm doing at least.

PS Please donate to our SD Liberty PAC and send as many Ron Paul delegates to Tampa from SD as possible.

Thanks again skyorbit...your working hard on the fundraising issue as I'm sure you see the importance of this effort for a successful campaign...I have donated before and hope to max out in Q3...how much have you donated to date if you don't mind me asking??

I've only put up $125 directly to his campaing so far. I've got another $125 already pledged that I'll be paying out later this week. But I'm cancling my 401K contributions immediately, so I should start putting up $64 or more a paycheck on top of that from now on.

    I don't make a lot of money

If either the $500 for 20,000 or $1,000 for 10,000 pledges make it, I'll feel I can donate more because I'd havae reasonable assurance that he would win and I'd make my money back. Right now though, I'm only donating what I feel I can afford to loose. I'm thinking about signing both of those pledges anyway, but not sure how I can swing it yet.

Other then that I've purchased bumper stickers, shirts, and signs that I've been wearing. And I've been handing out the Ron PAul business cards to my friends and co-workers. (Here in SD their's an election law that says you're only allowed to have signs up for a certain period of time -- I put my sign up anyway, I'll take it down if somebody complains and the state government says they'll fine me if I don't. Better to ask forgiveness then permission

PS. What would be the best way to advertise this, to try and promote other peole to do the same?
